Report to Henry Knox regarding preparations for war by Cherokee Indians : Knoxville, Southwest Territory, 1792 Oct 7.

Autograph manuscript copy of a report made by William Blount to Henry Knox, United States Secretary of War, written in an unidentified hand. The report relays information about Indian movements received by Blount since communicating with Knox on Sep 26. Blount states his expectation of further news of Creeks and Cherokees crossing the Tennessee River and moving toward Cumberland settlements, and he briefly reports on the assembly of militia. Appended is detailed information regarding movements of Cherokees, Creeks, and Shawnees, received from "Breath" and "Charles," Sep [23]; John Bogs, Hanging Maw, and Unacata, Sep 28-30; Kenoteta, Oct 1; John Christian, Oct 5; and from soldiers at Crooked Creek, Oct 2.
